Carlos Ruiz began his construction career more than 20 years ago in the Dallas area, where he ran a successful framing business. When he and his wife Nicole returned to Western Colorado in 2009, Carlos joined a local builder and gained experience in every part of the homebuilding process. His goal was simple: to create homes that are well made, thoughtfully designed, and rooted in the community. That goal became Alta Home Builders. Nicole joined after more than a decade in ministry and nonprofit work. She brings a people-first approach to every project and now leads Alta’s sales and marketing while also serving families as an independent real estate broker with Nicole Bernal Ruiz Realty. Carlos and Nicole built Alta Home Builders on core values of hard work, honesty, professionalism, and high standards. They strive to bring design ideas to life in a way that makes each house stand out while feeling like a true home for the families who live in it. Together, they believe a home is more than a place to live. It is where families grow, gather, and create memories, and their commitment guides every home they build in the Western Slope community.
